Hatched gallery in partnership with Carpe Diem is currently looking for visual artist only, to create a visual exhibition to complement our I AM CONGO exhibition.

I AM CONGO is an exhibition that uses a creative response to raise awareness of the issues facing Congo. Through various art forms the audience is invited to examine the relationship between themselves and conflict minerals found in everyday technological products. The Democratic Republic of Congo is Africa’s richest nation, resource rich in gold, diamonds, cobalt, copper, tin and tantalum. However the current situation caused by conflict over these resources has devastating consequences on the people.

Bringing together performers, spoken word poets, and visual arts, we will establish a creative atmosphere of enlightenment and empowerment for viewers. The goal of this show is to support the Panzi Hospital Foundation. A Foundation dedicated to treating the survivors of violence and sexual abuse in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Artwork can be a response directly related to and or: Congo, technology, conflict minerals. Conceptual, realistic, abstract etc. we are interested in all
